Golden Girl gets Olympic Welcome

Central Iowa celebrated Shawn Johnson and Coach Liang Chow’s Olympic success Tuesday, August 26, with a homecoming event at Wells Fargo Arena that drew over 8,000 fans, friends, and family. The spectacular also attracted dozens of photographers and reporters and was carried live by the Des Moines NBC affiliate, WHO TV. This was Shawn Johnson’s first public appearance in Iowa following the Olympics and a spot on David Letterman.

Request for Proposals to Publish 2009 Regional Investor and Membership Directory

The Greater Des Moines Partnership (the Partnership) is soliciting proposals for qualified providers for the purpose of publishing the Partnership’s 2009 Regional Investor and Membership Directory, complete with a Partnership Guide included in the publication promoting Partnership benefits in tandem with our local Chambers of Commerce and organizations. The qualified provider must be a member in good standing of the Greater Des Moines Partnership, an Affiliate Chamber of Commerce or through investment. The provider must also have previous experience in the production of similar publications.

Downtown Des Moines continues to experience a tremendous resurgence. In the last six years alone, nearly $400 million has been invested in downtown amenities. This progress is a credit to the collaboration forged between the public and private sectors.
